Tims January Tag

Hi everyone,

I know its been such a long time since I have been on blogger but I took part in Tim's tag this month so I thought I would share it!

I had some free time Friday to just have a nice play and thought the tag would be pretty quick and simple to do.  However when I discovered that I don't own any frosted crystal embossing powder I had a go with some Stampin Up heat and stick embossing powder which didn't give the right results, I then tried a normal embossing ink along with a clear embossing powder and that didn't look quite right either but I was going to go with it (I used Tim's typewriter stamp which was all layered up and good to be stuck down) when this lovely little parcel arrived from Art from the Heart

so obviously they needed to be used straight away so, third time lucky, I used a normal embossing ink and white embossing powder - totally cheating I know but hey, I was just having fun!

This is my finished tag:

Very simple for me really.  I decided to give the cat an extra layer (the base, cat's body, and then cat's face make up three layers) so for the fourth I gave the cat some black eyes - I know they don't usually have black eyes but they looked more effective than white I thought.  I also added the blue wool ball using two layers of the stamp which was embossed with Broken China distress powder.  The quote is done with silver embossing powder and the brick wall background is the Industrious Metal technique done as it should be!  For details of all the techniques and other tag entries pop over to Tim's blog.  I finished the tag off with blue wool for a tie - do you remember when wool was all the rage on tags back in the day???

All in all a fun little play even though it took a lot longer than it should have!
