A nice little sewing session

Over the past few weeks some friends of mine have all been turning the big 50, so to celebrate I made them each one of these little cuties:

I picked up the pattern and a kit (which are the fabrics in the first picture) at the Malvern Quilt show last May and once I got going they didn't take long at all to make.

A day in London

Oh didn't we have a lovely girls day out a couple of weeks ago.  We all decided that we had been putting off going to Libertys for our cream tea too long and decided to make Monday 29th February the day to go.

Off we all set at 11.30 (cheapest train!) and upon arrival went on the London Eye which was surprisingly quiet.  Here is the infamous hat on tour:

We also took in a trip to the M&M shop (rude not to!):

and then finally ended up at our destination:

and here was our lovely cream tea:

all in all a thoroughly enjoyable day out with good company, good fine and, thankfully, good weather!

NEC trip

Had a lovely day out at the Hobbycrafts NEC show last week with Louise - we went for five hours and it didn't occur to us that when I booked on two classes and Louise on one how much shopping time we were actually missing out on!  Must have been the excitement I guess - anyway don't panic as I still managed to spend a fortune whilst learning some new things on the way.  Here is the result of my first class:

I have been looking at the Powertex stuff for about three years now but always keep putting off getting some as I don't have time to learn a new hobby but I decided this year that what the heck I would fit it in after all!  As you can guess I obviously love this and have bought the starter kit to get myself making more stuff at home - it's still in the bag but hopefully I should get to have a play this week!  Whoo Hoo.

My other class was on the Sugar Buttons stall where Louise and I made some flowers out of air dry clay - obviously I then bought five more moulds and a flower cutter to add to my ever growing collection of moulds and have had a little play this morning (as you do - I couldn't play yesterday as OH had a birthday party!) I will show the results of these when they are dry, painted, mounted and whatever else I can think to do with them (so exciting!).

My next workshop at Hobbycraft is to be this card:

Lots of Tim goodness on this card with new stamps, texture paste, markers, stencils, distress stains and inks all being used.  The cost for this card is £12 and the class will be held on Thursday 21st April from 10.00am - Noon.  Places are limited so must be booked in advance - please get in touch via the contact me button if you would like to attend.

I also had a lovely Saturday last weekend in Hobbycraft demonstrating Tim inks and making this free make and take tag:

hope all who came along enjoyed themselves!  I did and I would just like to say a big thank you to all my new attendees and I look forward to seeing some of you soon on my Thursday workshops.
