WOYWW 101

Morning everyone - wasn't going to join in this week as I have cleared my dining room table and my desk is tidy too - however I am hoping to have a play later today, can't do too much as both my sons are having friends round for tea after school, but am I am hoping to get a couple of things finished so I have staged this photo to show you what I will be working on.

Yes it yet another configuration box - a Time one this time!  this just needs some stamped out clocks and watches added to it and the mannequin (which I got from Sainsburys) has been covered in music paper for a skirt (this is my fourth attempt - I did it like this first and wasnt keen, so I changed it to one whole piece which looked dreadful, then I made a skirt out of tags (inspired by the Apprentice dress - remember that one with the ties?) well I can't begin to describe how rubbish that looked so she has sat bare on the shelf for a few weeks whilst I lost my mojo but now I have gone back to the original fitted one).  This now just need some lace, ribbon, tulle and bling to finish it off so hopefully two quite quick projects which should get done sometime today.

If you would like to show us all whats on your desk pop over to Julias and bare all!

Thanks for looking :)

I love the music mannequin; her skirt looks so soft and fluid. And I'm a sucker for anything relating to time, so can't wait to see more clocks.

The Gingerbread wedding picture on my blog is from Taste of the Country in Shipston on Stour (between Stratford and Moreton in the Marsh if you don't know the area well). They always have some kind of Gingerbread art there (I remember some particularly fine firefighters) but I thought the wedding was a stroke of genius. Glad you liked it!

The mannequin is so cute - and proves with art you just have to keep trying. Eventually you will sort it. Maybe not today, maybe not next week, maybe not as the whole item you envisaged, but somehow it will find it's place.

Oooh - love the stuff on your desk this week!

Hmmm, maybe the "101" phrase isn't and Americanism, but I always thought it sounded so. However, to be complete contrary, whereas WOYWW 101 would perhaps have been a list of all things WOYWW, Room 101 was actually a torture chamber in the book, 1984, by George Orwell. Hence that TV show....

Happy Hopping!

The musical mannequin looks great- isn't it funny how we can decide we hate something, put it away for a while, then go back and realise its nowhere near as bad as we thought?Shaz #106

Thanks for the ideas for the Promarkers.
Great configuration box - I am starting one but this time I am trying to do it differently (and it's not really a TH box)for a class. I love "Time" as a theme so yours is particularly appealing to me.

Hi - nothing like an empty desk ready for getting creative! Hope you show ius the finished piece...have to mention the Kenneth Baker music book on your desk - whizzed me right back to being about 9 and having my first organ lessons - had forgotten about them (the books not the lessons!)
