WOYWW 121

Wasn't going to join in today but DS1 isn't feeling very well so is going to stay at home and miss the school trip!  Bit sad - we were off to a WWII museum in Staffordshire but he got sent home early yesterday for feeling sick and it looks like he still has the bug today :(  Oh well at least I get a bit more play time I guess!

Here is my desk today:

I have moved my main project as I am going to write an article about it and hopefully get it published.  The canvas bird you can see there is the startings of an owl - very excited about it although lets not talk about the glimmer mist spray that I used yesterday which sprayed in the wrong direction so that I now have a slightly sparkly owl - when will I ever learn to move items either before I spray or move the item I am spraying to another room to spray! never I guess.......   The cards on my table are just inked up pieces that need some finishing off so I will probably get on with those today and the pack of Prima canvas pieces are a new purchase I am playing with too - they are really nice so hopefully I will be able to do something fabulous with them and then get some to use in a up coming class at the crop or a workshop.

If you want to know why I am showing my desk to the world then pop over to Julias where all will be revealed!

Also I have restarted up my fortnightly tag, card and layout challenge on the post below to try and get my mojo moving again if you would like to join in with me please feel free - would love to see some creations if you do.
Thanks for looking :)

I don't think your owl will mind a bit of glimmer misting! - Tis the season of mists and all that. Love the stuff on your previous post too.

Shame that owl got the twinkly treatment but if anyone asks you can always say it’s the early morning dew on his feathers….you might get away with that one Lol!

Mind you, I’m just like you with not moving things out of the way. The thing I seem to do the most and never every learn by is that I forget to put the lids back on me distress inks and inevitably the card I’m making seems to find its way over to it and I get ink all over the back of the card.

Sorry to hear that you’re all coming down with the lurgy and that your DS had to miss his day out.

Happy Crafting!
Sue

I have three anti static mats under my work table on the main floor. I was lucky when a spray paint decided to spray all over the floor. If those mats hadn't been there, I would have had a copper colored carpet. Of course, I also know about mists. They just go everywhere, whether you want them to, or not. Here's hoping your son is better by now. Sorry I wasn't here sooner. I got a late start yesterday because I fell asleep before I could link up with Julia. Now I'm just trying to catch up.

I just read your comment on my blog and yes, that's a picture that Doone sent me. It's on a wooden base.

Great work space! So busy and looks like lots of pretty!
As for the owl, just glimmer spray him all over and everyone will think that is how he is supposed to be!
Thanks for visiting and entering my giveaway! Good luck!

So funny about the spray going in the wrong direction, poor little owl - I have a collapsible box thingy for use when spraying. But any old box would do I guess. Problem is remembering to use it in the excitement of pressing on with something :) Hope your DS feels better soon honey! Di xxx

I have been caught many a time by the glimmermist spray. Once in the face (nice oriental poppy colour) and quite a few times on the desk, wall other items lying around. Hope your DS gets better soon.

Poor dear, I hope your son is feeling better. I've had the same mishap but it wasn't on a owl. It was all over a wood table...what is wrong with those things? (I know it was my fault but now that you've had the same issue I think it might not be. That's my story and I'm sticking to it) Very creative desk and I see your blackberry isn't far from the craft scene...haha! How would that look with sparkles?

I got one of those little card spray booths (I think they are by Colorbox)
and I think they are wonderful - look out for one, only about a fiver.
Good luck with the article - and the owl. Hope things are back to normal at home. Thanks for sharing - Neet xx
