WOYWW 179

Bit of an untidy desk again but not too bad as I am still in serious sewing mode - I have four projects on the go at the moment - so I need a relatively clear desk to lie it all out particularly when cutting.

That pile of material at the front is what I bought at the Malvern Quilt show two weeks ago which still hasn't been put away - it just keeps moving from chair to table whenever/wherever someone sits down!  The pile on the front left is what I was working on and designing/cutting templates yesterday, the blue pile in the middle of the table was going to be a London quilt but I think is now going to be placemats instead.  The other bits and bobs are left out from my class on Monday they just need popping on the bookcase at the back but I haven't done that yet either!

That's it from my desk today - not much but I still fancied joining in the fun!  If you would like to too then pop over to Julias and show your desk to the world - it doesnt matter whether its neat or cluttered or what projects you are working on we are all too happy to come and have a nose at your workspace!

So who is going to the big show tomorrow then?  Morag and I are going first thing and meeting up with Hettie when her bus gets in - anyone else?

Thanks for looking - Busy Making Hobbycraft Lists from Solihull

Go and get that typewriter out of your boot NOW! They are great for art journaling words as you can do it on little scraps of coloured card or paper. Really enjoying the AJ and am pondering another homemade stencil today. Nice to see all your sewing though. BJ#30

Lovely collection of fabrics, I'm sure they will all look fabulous when made up. Better you than me, I hate sewing and sewing machines hate me!
Have a great week.

Lovely materials there. Good luck with your crochet flowers. You could sew them together and make a cushion, scarf, or hat add them as embellishments. Thanks or visiting

What pretty fabrics you have stacked there. I didn't make the quilt I posted last week, only decorated it. Years ago I was an avid sewer, and always wanted to learn to quilt, then I bought a stamp, and well.......the rest is history as they say. Thanks for popping by my blog.

Shame Julia and Jan are no longer going to the show but you'll still have a great time. I like the little piles of fabric patiently waiting for their turn. Love the Halloween quilt a few posts down, really like the back of it, very Edward Gorey!

You have a nice lot of space even if the table is all piled high!! Just been looking at your organisational ideas and must try the distress ink tag idea. Amjust getting around to putting the name and the colour on my pads to make it easier to deceide which colour I need but your tag idea is much simpler. Thanks for the chance to see it.

Lots of lovely sewing going on there, Sunshine Girl! The patchwork pieces look gorgeous. It must have been amazing to visit the quilt show.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. Thanks for missing me! I'm having a rough day today but hopefully will be better tomorrow and will be able to continue with my journal page. I did a bit more after posting for WOYWW, but I've got to make some poppies for it, and then I should be able to upload the post about it, so keep watching!

I find it best to support the open book on some other books so that it lies flat, and then I put sheets of scrap paper under the pages I'm working on, which protects everything underneath. That way, any stray ink goes on the scrap paper and not where you don't want it. I can't take this book apart to work on it without ruining it, so I just have to be careful as I work!

Thanks for your concern about my parents, and for us too - I am a bit concerned that my hubby may burn himself out, but he's being a bit more sensible now things have settled down a bit, and not giving in to every little manipulative demand of my mum's! Someone wants to buy their house at last, but they've still got to sell theirs, so we're not really any further forward on that one, although the house we want to buy is still on the market, and the owner knows we're interested. Nothing may happen before Christmas though, as I can't imagine most people wanting to move house till that's all out of the way!

Thank you for visiting me today! Sometimes I go through a major sewing phase too, and I always spread things out a lot more, than when I'm in my art journal stuff. I love your nice big cutting mat! So fun to buy fabric and goodies at a quilt show. Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #24

Happy woyww, great looking workspace. thanks stopping by. you mentioned the painting with distress inks, I am just starting to play with them in that manner, I did stamp one image and then emboss with black powder and that helped keep the ink in the right places, I have also used quite a small brush and only a little water. I am loving the versatility at the mo.
happy crafting, Love the tag bellow as well x
